Ikeda Ippei began his study of piano in early childhood. As well as an highly praised performer of jazz and experimental music, he is also active as an actor, writer, and director of theater. He has collaborated on numerous occasions as a musician with traditional Japanese dancers, actors, and installation artists. Currently he acts with the theater group Yamiichi Kodo and performs widely as a jazz musician in Kyoto.



ピアノ弾き。役者。1973年、大阪・滋賀出身。 京都大学在学時に演劇活動を始めるとともに、ジャズピアニスト岩瀬章光氏 に師事。 以降京都・大阪でライブ活動を行う。2010年から尺八バンド「夕顔」 に参加。同年、ペン画作家の大島尚子とコラボ企画「夜のワルツ」を発表。 2011年、夕顔メンバーとしてヨーロッパツアーを行う。現在はジャズライブ活動 の他、舞踏・朗読のイベントに於いても様々なコラボを行い好評を博している。 また1995年から現在まで、即興的演劇的行為集団「やみいち行動」のメンバー としても活動中。
